Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination and the CDS examination is an All-India competitive examination held for national entry-level candidates to offer them opportunities to serve as officers in the Armed Forces by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India. The main purpose is to pick candidates aspiring to be officers in their various courses. These courses are being offered by the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Indian Naval Academy (INA), the Air Force Academy (AFA) as well as the Officers' Training Academy (OTA). A CDS command examination, conducted twice a year, may be scheduled in February and November. Only fresh-eyed graduates and final-year students from a recognized university are allowed to apply following the stated criteria. The examination consists of a written test with an interview/personality test made by the Services Selection Board (SSB). In the test, you will be required to undertake English, General knowledge, and elementary mathematics (particularly for other courses). The interview/personality test is a multi-facet screening tool that evaluates intelligence, aptitude, and capability to comprehend the readiness for a military career. Fully qualified candidates after completing the stages of the examinations will be given preference for admission to the academies they want depending on their merit. On completion of the training, cadets engage in the socio-economic project whereby they are commissioned as officers in the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, or the Indian Air Force; depending on the academy or course they applied for.
