The Commission performs such other functions as may be entrusted to it by the Central Govt. from time to time.
Staff Selection Commission currently functions as a subordinate office of DOPT and is mainly engaged in conducting competitive exams for recruitment to various posts in the Staff Selection Commission departments, organizations. SSC CGL recruitment process includes several essential qualifications that a candidate must possess. For different posts, a different set of qualifications are needed.

For Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Paper- I, Paper-II and Paper- III are considered for selection.
Assistant Audit Officer Group- B: Paper- I, Paper-II and Paper- IV are considered for selection.
For Other Posts: Only paper-I and Paper-II are considered for selection.
Tier-III: Instead of INTERVIEW, Tier-III (of 100 marks) has been inducted which will require candidates to write Essay/Precis/Letter /Application in either English or Hindi.
There will be no sectional cut-offs but a candidate will have to qualify all the three phases i.e. Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III.

The IBPS is an important exam that aspirants want to clear for entry into the Banking sector. Every year lakhs of candidates register for this competitive exam. If you are among those candidates appearing for IBPS PO then you must know the exam pattern before starting to prepare for the exam. Candidates have to clear each exam with a sectional cutoff to secure a place in the final merit list.
Candidates who have qualified for the mains exams will be called for a personal interview. The date of the interview will be announced after the IBPS PO mains exam is over. The personal interview will be off 100 marks. Candidates have to score at least 40% marks to get on the merit list. After the interview round is over, IBPS will display the merit list on the official website.
